Minutes

Meeting held on 3rd October 2012 at the Halford Bridge Inn at 7.30 p.m.

1. Apologies

2. Declaration of Interests Councillors are asked to declare personal interests in any items on the agenda. Councillors are reminded that the code of conduct that took effect from 5th September 2012 provides that should they have a prejudicial interest in any matter under discussion, they should withdraw from the room and not seek to influence a decision about the matter.

3. Approval of minutes of meeting held on the 5th September 2012
Minutes having been circulated were confirmed as an accurate record of the meeting held in September 2012 and were duly signed by the Chairman.

4. Democratic 15 minutes
The public have been tending and planting the Millennium Garden. Grassing over some of the area is a consideration. Cars parking on the grass are an issue. Councillors will meet with residents to discuss possible further actions.

Ramblers attempting to use the Shakespeare Way are impeded by overgrowth and weeds. The footpath is a WCC issue but the relevant department is much reduced. Volunteer help is a consideration. Cllrs Seccombe and Gale will liaise with Keith Davenport at WCC on actions.

A double gate from a meadow needs replacing.
A stile in the village way deemed to have been repaired inadequately.
A tree needs to be removed from the river.

5. Matters arising
A) Grass cutting
SDC continue to cut the grass and the area by The Leys remains an issue.
Mike Solomon reiterated his offer to assist with cutting the grass in this area.

B) Drainage, highway Issues and village maintenance - Progress Report
No outstanding matters
