Minutes

Meeting held on 2nd January 2013 at
Lomas Barn, Queens Street, Halford at 7.30 pm
Meeting closed 8.00 pm

1. Apologies
None

2. Declaration of Interests Councillors are asked to declare personal interests in any items on the agenda. Councillors are reminded that the code of conduct that took effect from September 2012 provides that should they have a prejudicial interest in any matter under discussion, they should withdraw from the room and not seek to influence a decision about the matter.

3. Approval of minutes of meeting held on the 7th November 2012
Minutes having been circulated were confirmed as an accurate record of the meeting held in November 2012 and were duly signed by the Chairman.

4. Democratic 15 minutes
No members of the public wished to speak.
Further to correspondence from Pam Taylor advising the PC that Helen Pearson, a resident of Halford, will be celebrating her 100th birthday in the near future the PC agreed to purchase a bouquet for her at a cost of circa
25.00 to mark the occasion.

5. Matters arising and new matters
No comments have been received from residents regarding the PC reverting to meeting every other month.

Grass cutting in The Leys and Verges in Queens Street will be re-addressed at the March PC meeting.

A resident will be asked to ensure the contractor undertaking work on their property ensures they repair verges they have damaged.

The gate on Henry's Meadow has now been repaired.

WCC are aware action is needed regarding clearing of the Shakespeare Way footpath and this will be progress chased in due course.

To consider providing a goal post within the play area
After much discussion the provision of a goal post was decided to be impractical as the location of a goal post would be likely to pose a problem for residents where ball sports were concerned. A net was considered but the PC resolved that no further action would be taken due to the likely inconvenience to neighbouring properties.

Financial support for Village Hall kitchen improvements
A new cooker is needed and will cost between 900 and 1200 plus costs for fitting.
A grant of 1000 has already been enabled by WCC towards the project.
The Parish Council approved a grant of 500 towards kitchen improvements within Halford Village Hall. Proposed Cllr Machin Seconded Cllr Rickards.
