Minutes

Meeting held on 4th July 2018 at The Bridge Inn, Halford
at 7.30 p.m.

1. Apologies:

2. Declaration of Interests Councillors are asked to declare personal interests in any items on the agenda. Councillors are reminded that the code of conduct that took effect from May 2018 provides that should they have a prejudicial interest in any matter under discussion, they should withdraw from the room and not seek to influence a decision about the matter.

3. Approval of minutes of meeting held on the 2nd May 2018
Minutes having been circulated were confirmed as an accurate record of the meeting held in May 2018 and were duly signed as such.

5. Matters arising and new matters

A) Drainage, highway Issues and village maintenance - Progress Report
Subsidence at a roundabout thought dangerous and overhanging branches obscuring 30mph signs have been reported to WCC for action.
The Village Hall sign is obscured by foliage and this will be rectified.
The pavement between The Folly and Far Cottages is overgrown and SDC will be notified of this and requested to clear it.
Concern was expressed regarding an overgrown footpath between Idlicote Road and the field behind it.
An article will feature in Village Voices regarding the need for overgrowth in Halford needing to be tidied up.

B) Traffic Calming
Monitoring and enforcement remain issues and reservations were voiced regarding future actions and costs. The camera project remains a consideration although on hold and Paul Bannister will be thanked for his work with regards to traffic calming projects.
Improvement to 30mph limits and possible road furniture remain as options.
It was noted a pedestrian crossing with lighting has been enabled on the A429 between Wellesbourne and Ditchford whilst the PC have been told hitherto similar cannot be sited in Halford. Cllr Seccombe will be asked for clarification on this as well as for guidance regarding signage options.


C) Bus Shelter
This is now in position and is being used.

TG1 - Mixed species group -Fell section to achieve a minimum clearance of 5metres to the garage of 6 Roman Way, remove further trees within group to obtain a 1metre clearance from the fence line across the full extent of the boundary to 6 Roman Way.
The tree works are proposed to stop the influence of the tree(s) on the soil below building foundation level and provide long term stability.
